Case Studies

Surgibox Inc.

Surgibox came to us for help on their Series Seed funding round in the Spring of 2023. The company designs and manufactures surgical bubbles that create a sterile environment in any type of situation. Their primary use-case is in war-torn and disaster-stricken environments. We immediately recognized not only the value of the product but also the quality of the management team and their network. We helped them craft a message that clearly expressed the investment thesis, built the fundraising strategy with them and assisted in their outreach efforts through workshops and constant guidance. They were able to successfully raise their Seed funding and are now working with VDF Ventures again on preparing their next round of funding (Series A) that will allow them to start producing and distributing at scale.

NYBE B.V.

For the Belgian company NYBE B.V., a software solutions company, we took an all-encompassing approach to make sure the company was ready to raise their intended investment amount. We first pivoted the company to a different strategy, cutting out the client segment that only brought in small amounts of revenue and only focussing on the segment with the largest clients that signed the biggest contracts with the highest margins. We then worked on a host of topics, ranging from price elasticity analysis, price setting, team building, restructuring of the way clients are serviced both on the front end and the back end. We worked on the finances of the company, cutting costs where necessary and hiring additional talent to plug gaps in the team’s capabilities.

Eventually, when we were confident NYBE was in the right place to go out and approach investors, we prepared all necessary documentation to successfully complete that funding round. We did so by developing a creative finmix of owner’s equity, friends & family, a local investment firm and one of the country’s leading banks. We are proud to have successfully completed this round for NYBE so they got the room to expand their operations and grow their top and bottom lines.
